CRABBE
(VINCENT CRABBE'S FATHER)
In memory
of a true and honest young wizard.
CHARLIE WEASLEY
Second
Weasley son and amazing dragon keeper. He knows his way around Romania very
well, I'd say, especially if some one were lost in the vicinity including
Bulgaria, Transylvania, etc. Better keep an eye on the Weasley's clock... and
ask Crookshanks for help.
Since Charley is a Dragon Keeper I wonder if he will arrange
for Norbert to be reunited with his surrogate mummy, Hagrid?
Time to
water the Dragons. More on Charlie to come.
CHO CHANG
I read that people are betting that Cho Chang will die in Half-Blood Prince.
UPDATE: Cho lives. Maybe she will be a victim in Book 7? Well, it’s always
possible. Her patronus is a swan. Maybe that was Jo’s way of telling us Cho is
like the swan in the ballet Swan Lake, who loved, lost and died. But really,
what is the basis for her death?
Cho has never been a main character. That doesn’t mean she isn’t important.
It just means that her death, while significant, won’t change the direction of
the storyline. So if, presumably, Voldemort or one of his Death Eaters should
kill her, although Harry will be emotionally affected and will grieve just as he
did after Cedric was murdered, Cho’s death won’t change the path Harry is on or
his final battle with Voldemort. Sirius’s and Dumbledore’s deaths are far more
significant in determining how Harry will react to future events. And that is
really important because it is what happens to Harry and those closest to him
that drives and motivates his actions.
Still we hope not too see too many major characters being struck down by the
Avada Kedavra aka Killing Curse. I assume (dangerous thing to do) that Jo
wouldn’t want to kill off too many main characters too fast. That being the
case, I’m sure you’ve noticed there are loads of minor characters, or extras,
throughout the HP books who have been and can be eliminated. Their deaths are
significant in the respect that we see overall loss and devastation but our main
characters… and us readers, can deal with it after the shock has worn off a
bit. Also, systematically and unexpectedly killing off the characters that we’d
least expect to see die helps us grasp the fact that Voldemort’s evil reign is
growing ever stronger and wider and no one is safe.

If Cho does die I don’t think she’ll die alone, rather she may die along side
others during a fight between Death Eaters and D.A. members. Since she and
Harry “broke up” she’s just not that important to be singled out all on her
own. Sorry Cho…
COLIN CREEVEY
Colin
tells Harry in CoS that his dad is a milkman but we never know what his mother
is... or if he has a mother. Is or was she a muggle or witch? Colin's brother,
Dennis, is also a wizard which leads me to think that mum is/was a witch.
If so, that
would make both Colin and his brother half-bloods...
I'm sure
the Daily Prophet will be interested in some of his photos someday soon. If not
the D.P. then perhaps The Quibbler. No more film in the camera at present and
I've gone to get my latest roll developed to see what clues Colin's pictures
might reveal. Come back soon.
He dresses corny and he fudges his duties. When we first meet Cornelius Fudge
he seems very kind and fatherly towards Harry but as Harry grows so does Fudge's
pompous ego and paranoia. He fears Dumbledore wants his job and I agree that
his position as Minister of Magic is in jeopardy. But he seems to have pulled
his lime green bowler hat down to far because it's covering his eyes and he's
blind to who the real usurper(s) could be. As of HBP, Fudge does step down from
his “throne”… Okay, he’s actually sacked and replaced by Ministry Auror Rufus
Scrimgeour. The question is, how long will Scrimgeour last as Minister of
Magic?
I want to learn more about
his army of Heliopaths. (OotP)
