 I decided to list in the form of questions and answers some of the main events in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.  If you haven’t read the book yet you are hereby forewarned that I don’t hold back on the answers.  Starting with things that are perhaps not as eye-popping, I will work my way down the page to where the real stunners will be waiting for you.

1)     Who’s engaged to whom?

Bill Weasley and Fleur Delacour… ooh la la…

2)     Which wizard is Tonks mooning over?

Remus Lupin, obviously.

3)     Who is Ron snogging?

Lavender Brown… no comment.

4)     How did Harry do on his O.W.L.s?

Brilliantly.  His grades were:

Ron.  Well, it’s really no surprise now, is it? … except maybe to Ron.

8)     Who is Harry’s new girlfriend… at least for a while?

Ginny.  It’s about time.

9)     Who is the new DADA teacher?

Professor Severus Snape.  Are you as shocked as I am?

10) Who is the new Potions teacher?

Horace Slughorn… friend of the great and near great…

11) Who is the newest Death Eater Recruit?

Draco Malfoy.  The little kiss-up!

12) Who is the Half-Blood Prince?

Severus Snape.  He is half muggle and half wizard… and his mother’s maiden name was Prince.   

13) Which major character dies?

Brace yourselves… our dear Albus Dumbledore is murdered.

14) Who murdered Dumbledore?

Severous Snape… what a snake!

15) What is Riddle’s aka Lord Voldemort’s secret?

He split his soul into seven parts.  His diary was a Horcrux, which is an enchanted object that houses the split off portion of the soul.  Voldemort didn’t die when the killing curse he shot at Harry rebounded and hit him because he had already split his soul several times, thus securing his “immortality,” for even if one of the soul parts was destroyed, he still had five other parts safely protected inside their own Horcruxes.
