JAMES POTTER  Updated August 20, 2005

JUSTIN FINCH-FLETCHLEY  Updated August 20, 2005

JAMES POTTER

Harry’s dad:  What did James do for a living?  We have yet to learn.  We can’t believe Aunt Petunia or Uncle Vernon’s scathing remarks that he was an unemployed good-for-nothing loafer or Aunt Marge’s rude statements that he was a drunk.  Neither is true.  He wasn’t want for money.  The Potter bank vault in Gringott’s appears to have gallons of galleons stored in it. Was he an auror?  Possibly.  Probably.  Do aurors make that much money?  Did his family have old money, wealth acquired generation after generation?  Or did James make his fortune on his own?  Did he marry into money?  Was Lily’s family rich?  I’m inclined to say no to these last two questions.  Perhaps he played professional Quidditch.  Hmmm.  No, don’t think so.  If he did the he hadn’t been a very famous Quidditch player because we’d have heard of him just like famous Ludo Bagman and Viktor Krum.  I am hedging toward both James and Lily being aurors.  I don’t think they needed to work because James came from a well-to-do wizarding family but they did work because they wanted to rid the world of evil wizards.  Ah well, we’ll just have to be a bit more patient before we can say for sure, won’t we? I think the answers can be found in Godric’s Hollow… both physically and literally.

In PS/SS Voldemort tells Harry he killed James first then Lily.  The American version of GOF, during the Priori Incantatum wand scene in the graveyard, Lily came out of the wand first and tells Harry that his father is coming, and indeed his father is last to come out of Voldemort's wand. .

By the way, what ever happened to James and Lily’s bodies?  Where are they buried and why has Harry never sought to visit their graves?  Were they totally destroyed…  ashes to ashes and dust to dust so there were no bodies to bury?  I'm waving a big red Godric’s Hollyow flag here!

JUSTIN FINCH-FLETCHLEY

Justin's mother was a bit upset with he received his letter from Hogwarts because her son had been accepted to attend Eton College.  She was appeased, however, when Justin had her read some of Gilderoy Lockhart's magical pests remedy books.  So Justin's mother is undoubtedly a muggle.  What about his dad?  He's not mentioned and it is assumed that Justin's parents are both muggles.

Don't want to jump to any conclusions yet. Just check back later.
